The terms that govern your use of our website and purchase of our products and services.

1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to all services provided by Kingsmere Home Improvements Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales ("we", "us", "our"), to you the customer ("you").

By requesting a quote, placing an order, or using our website at kingsmerehomes.co.uk, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

These Terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

2. Quotes & Orders

All quotes provided by Kingsmere are free of charge and carry no obligation. A quote is valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise.

A binding contract is formed only when:

  • You have accepted our written quotation in full
  • We have confirmed your order in writing
  • A deposit has been received where applicable

We reserve the right to withdraw or amend a quote before a contract is formed if there has been an obvious error in pricing or specification.

All products are made to your specified measurements. We cannot accept returns or exchanges on made-to-measure items except where they are faulty or not as described.

3. Payment

Our standard payment terms are:

  • Deposit: A percentage deposit is required upon order confirmation (amount confirmed in your quote)
  • Balance: The remaining balance is due on the day of installation, upon satisfactory completion

We accept payment by bank transfer, debit card, and credit card. All prices are quoted in GBP and include VAT at the current UK rate unless stated otherwise.

If payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to charge interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998, and to suspend or cancel your installation.

4. Installation

All installations are carried out by our own directly employed fitters — we do not use subcontractors. Our team will:

  • Attend at the agreed date and time (or notify you promptly if there is a delay)
  • Complete the installation to the agreed specification
  • Leave the installation area clean and tidy
  • Demonstrate the operation of your product before leaving

You must ensure that reasonable access to the installation area is provided on the agreed date. If access cannot be provided and we are not notified at least 48 hours in advance, a re-booking fee may apply.

You are responsible for ensuring that any structural requirements (e.g., suitable lintel or frame) are in place prior to installation. Our surveyor will advise during the free home survey.

5. Guarantee

All Kingsmere products are covered by our 5-year guarantee, which covers:

  • Defects in materials and workmanship
  • Mechanical failure under normal domestic use
  • Motor and electrical components (where applicable)

The guarantee does not cover:

  • Accidental damage or misuse
  • Damage caused by third parties or adverse weather events beyond normal UK conditions
  • Cosmetic wear and tear over time
  • Modifications made by anyone other than Kingsmere
To make a guarantee claim, contact us at sales@kingsmerehomes.co.uk or call 0330 633 6288 with your order reference and a description of the issue. We aim to respond within 2 working days.

6. Cancellation & Your Right to Cancel

As a consumer, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of placing it under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, without giving any reason. This cooling-off period applies where the contract was agreed at a distance (e.g., online or by phone).

To exercise your right to cancel, please notify us in writing (email or letter) within the 14-day period. If you have paid a deposit and cancel within this period, you will receive a full refund within 14 days.

Exception: If you have requested that installation begins within the 14-day cooling-off period and you then cancel, we may charge a reasonable proportion of the contract price for work already carried out.

For cancellations made after the 14-day period:

  • More than 14 days before installation: deposit is refunded minus any survey or material costs incurred
  • Less than 14 days before installation: deposit may be retained in full to cover costs

7. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter which cannot be excluded by law.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to a contract shall not exceed the total value of that contract.

We are not liable for:

  • Loss of profit, business, or revenue
  • Indirect or consequential losses
  • Damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including extreme weather, power outages, or industrial action

8. Website Use

You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You must not:

  • Use the site in any way that breaches applicable laws or regulations
  • Transmit unsolicited commercial communications (spam)
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its server
  • Upload or transmit malicious code or harmful material

We do not guarantee that the website will always be available or error-free. We may suspend, withdraw, or restrict access at any time without notice.

The content on our website is for general information only. While we take care to keep information accurate and up to date, we make no warranties about its completeness or accuracy.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, graphics, and design — is owned by or licensed to Kingsmere Home Improvements Ltd and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The current version will always be published on this page with the date of last update.
